The Milwaukee Bucks have done it, and clinched the second NBA championship in the franchise’s history after dispatching the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night in another epic NBA Finals moment, winning 105-98 to claim the series in six games.
The Bucks defied the odds by winning four straight games against the Suns after dropping the opening two games of the series, and in doing so shocked most of the sports world. Giannis Antetokounmpo claimed his first ring and won NBA Finals MVP in the process with a Game 6 performance for the ages, scoring 50 points with 14 rebounds in the close-out game.

Antetokounmpo certainly led the charge with his iconic performance, but he far from did it on his own with the Bucks compiling one of the great team performances in NBA Finals history. Led by a lengthy and suffocating defense that held the Suns to just 44% shooting in Game 6 and made life difficult for Chris Paul and Devin Booker, the Bucks found a way to get it done and secure the franchise’s second title.
Although the Bucks were clearly a Finals favorite going into the season, they faced their share of adversity through a crazy seven-game series with the Brooklyn Nets and a seemingly serious injury to Antetokoumnpo in the Conference Finals. Giannis happened to come back for Game 1 of the Finals, and ended up producing one of the all-time great championship performances the sport has seen in recent years.
